Rose market Update wk 29

After a very good period from week 19 till week 28, the market is dramatic collapsed.

The timing of start vacations in all Europe together with very high temperatures is critic for the flowers demand, even this situation is quiet normal for this period.

Good quality and high lengths of the premium segment still getting reasonable price.

Red color and short lengths are suffering the most.

Today clock sells, flowers destroyed because of no demand :

Total 190.000 stems destroyed

Red roses 70.000 stems destroyed

Red Naomi 60.000 stems destroyed

Generally quantity supply is not high. In Kenya is cold and in Ethiopia is rainy. Still quality problems, special botrytis.

I recommend to stop sending short lengths and varieties that the demand in the market is low.

All suppliers react for the situation and sending less, so I recommend not to stop completely and keep sending small quantity in order to be in the market and gain the trust of buyers when market start improving.
